While some of ‘The Sopranos’ cast gathered in New York to celebrate 20 years since the show first premiered, one former cast member was mourning the loss of his wife just a few miles away.
Steve Buscemi, who played Tony’s cousin Anthony Blundetto on the series, lost his wife on Jan. 7, 2019, two days before his fellow ‘Sopranos’ castmates reunited for the 20th anniversary.
Jo Andres, a filmmaker, and choreographer sadly passed away aged 65.
According to multiple media outlets, Andres was buried on Jan. 11 following an NYPD and FDNY escorted funeral procession.
The family welcomed many visitors to their Park Slope home on Tuesday, January 8 and Wednesday, January 9 before the funeral.
There were around 20 people at the service, selected relatives and a few close friends including John Turturro and Aida Turturro.
RadarOnline reported she was laid to rest in a large wicker coffin.
Buscemi and Andres were last seen in public on the red carpet together last July when they stepped out at The Cinema Society screening of Puzzle.
Buscemi’s representative, Staci Wolfe, confirmed Andres’ death on Sunday but did not answer any questions about how she died.
Andres is survived by Buscemi, 61, and the couple’s only child, 29-year-old son Lucian.
Our thoughts are with Buscemi and Andres’ loved ones during this difficult time.
