Quick Guide: Yunnan Baiyao For Human Bleeding And Dog Cancer
Yunnan Baiyao, also known as Yunnan Paiyao, has gained recognition thanks to its amazing ability to stop excessive bleeding.
This “miracle medicine” was developed in Yunnan, China in 1902 by doctor Qu Huanzhang.
The exact ingredients and production process were a secret, kept by only one family of doctors.
Seeing the value of this medicine, the Guo Ming Dang Government at the time, tried to obtain the formula from Mr. Qu, who refused to reveal its ingredients.
Mr. Qu was then imprisoned and eventually died in captivity in 1938, at the age of 58.
Just before his death, Mr. Qu passed the details of the formula over to his wife Liao Lanying.
She, in order to protect the formula, closed down their shops and ceased formulation of the product.
On the fall of the Guo Ming Dang government to the Communist Party in 1949, the new government assisted Liao Lanying in re-establishing the business.
She was so grateful for this that, on her deathbed, she left the formula to the government.
The formula is still secretly guarded by the Chinese government but it is well known that the main active ingredient is a pseudoginseng root called Panax Notoginseng.
Yunnan Baiyao uses
You can use Yunnan Baiyao on any type of open wound or on any kind of surgery.
It stops bleeding, disperses blood stasis, activates blood circulation, alleviates pain, clears away toxins, and reduces swelling.
It was first introduced to the West during the Vietnam War.
During the war, American soldiers noticed Vietcong soldiers carrying the medicine to stop bleeding should they get shot.
The medicine also proved its efficiency when the Chinese fought against the Japanese in World War II.
Dr. Qu Huanzhang donated more than 30,000 bottles to the army which saved the lives of many soldiers preventing them from bleeding out before getting medical attention.
These days every single Chinese soldier carries Yunnan Baiyao in their emergency first aid kit.
They’re mainly given in capsules but they can be pinched open so the powder inside can be applied externally to a bleeding surface.
Clinical evidence has shown that Yunnan Baiyao is helpful in treating uterine hemorrhage, ulcerative colitis, and skin ulcer.
Yunnan Baiyao for dogs
More than half of dogs over 10 years of age are likely to develop cancer in their lifetime.
A recent study published in the United States National Library of Medicine reviewed clinical trials studying the effectiveness of Yunnan Baiyao on dogs with hemangiosarcoma.
Hemangiosarcoma is a tumor that develops from cells that line blood vessels.
This nasty cancer affects the skin, heart, liver or spleen.
Other types of blood cancer in dogs include leukemia and lymphoma.
The research concluded that Yunnan Baiyao could control bleeding and slow this cancer down.
Please note: Check with the vet before you begin giving Yunnan Baiyao to your dog or horse.
Yunnan Baiyao side effects
In clinical studies, Yunnan Baiyao has no side effects when used as directed.
However, this medicine may elevate liver markers if used daily for prolonged periods of time.
You should not use it, either internally or externally, if you are pregnant.
